The Ministry of MSMEs Alliance launched the Udyam registration portal on  July 1, 2020. The portal has proven itself both in terms of flexibility and functionality. Currently, the portal has more than 11,000 registered MSMEs and has completed the registration process based on self-declaration. The Minister of Finance  introduced this registration process as  part of the Prime Minister's relief package amid the Covid 19 pandemic.

New Entrepreneurs who want to apply for Udyam MSMEs can follow these steps: - 

Step 1: Use the given link to access the registration portal Udyam  https://udyamregisteration.org/

Step 2: A new page with the Aadhaar Number dialog box will appear on the screen. Here you have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number in the empty field. 

Step 3: Fill in "Contractor Name" as mentioned on  Aadhaar card 

Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and press the check mark for statement 

Step 5: Then press 'Verify and Generate OTP' button Step 

Step 6: Udyam registration portal will send a one-time password to your registered phone number for  verification. 

Step 7: Enter  OTP i.e., One Time Password and press the "Verify" button 

Step 8: After successful verification, perform the operations as shown below; 

  • Enter  business structure type 
  • Upload  PAN number. 
  • Accept the declaration form and continue by pressing the "Verify" button 
  • Provide  ITR and GSTIN details, if applicable. 

Step 10: In case a valid PAN card is not available, the contractor can enter his/her name in the “Contractor name” field. 

Step 11: Provide your phone number and email id in the given field.

Step 12: Next, provide information about social type, gender and company name  

Step 13: Enter the factory location. 

Step 14: Indicate the  official address of the company. 

Step 15: Next, provide old EM-II/UAM registration number, business status, bank details, primary business, National Industrial Classification (NIC) code related to the activity , employee details. 

Step 16: Enter the costs incurred for the establishment of the factory, machinery including other important details mentioned on the screen. 

Step 17: Next, accept the declaration  and click on the option named “Send and Receive Final OTP”.'

Step 18: Provide a one-time password to complete the registration process.

Note: PAN & GSTIN are required for  Udyam registration. So you should register to get your PAN and GSTIN and update them on the portal. 

Steps to Migrate to Udyam (Re-Register) 

The following steps can be used for re-registration purposes to register for Udyam. 

Step 1: Enter the given link on your web browser to access the Udyam online registration portal https://udyamregisteration.org/udyam-re-registration.php

Step 2: Select the option titled “You can switch to Udyam (re-register) here.” 

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new window. Here you have to provide  Udyog Aadhaar number and choose apt OTP options. 

Step 4: Next, click the “Validate and Generate OTP” tab to continue.

Step 5: Provide one time password to authenticate your Udyog Aadhaar number

Step 2: To update, tap  the option called “Update details”. 

Step 3: You will see 2 options.Tap on “Update Udyog Aadhar” option.

Step 5: Provide your valid UAM number for update purposes. 

Step 6: Select one of  apt options from the following: - 

  • OTP as on mobile number 
  • OTP as on email address

Step 7: Tap  the option named “Validate and Generate OTP”. 

Step 8: Enter  One Time Password on your saved login information i.e., mobile number or email id. 

Step 9: After verification, correct necessary details of MSME Udyog Aadhaar 

MSME Certificate Download Guide UAM Portal 

Steps below will allow you to Download Udyam Certificate via number UAM from the UAM portal. 

Step 1: Access the website of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through the given link https://udyamregisteration.org/print-udyam-certificate-online.php

Step 2: On the home page, find and select the “Print” option 

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new window for Udyog Download the Aadhaar Memorandum, i.e. https://udyamregisteration.org/print-udyam-certificate-online.php

Step 4: Provide a valid UAM number for upload purposes. 

Step 5: Provide your registered contact number as per Udyog Aadhaar
