Stress or anxiety is a state of mind where the person finds themselves in a tight spot, and they worry about many things. Overcoming fear can be a daunting task and overwhelming for the grand majority of adults and teenagers alike.Though the possibility of it translating into physical damage is low, it can happen if the stress reaches uncomfortable levels. In that sense, stress and anxiety have to be dealt with quickly before their effect on the mind multiplies.
1. Normal anxiety
Normal stress is the type of anxiety people tend to get when they are in fearful or stressful situations. An example of this would be someone driving through a new piece of land that they found. And suddenly, the person loses their sense of direction and start o panic. In this particular case, the level of anxiety people get depends on how often they went through similar situations and their level of calm. The feeling they get in their stomach area is only natural because they are in uncharted territory. However, if the level of stress stays high for a long time, it can have a significant effect on the body's health and the mind as well. In other words, not overcoming stress can produce too many chemical reactions inside the system, which are capable of damaging it.
2. Anxiety disorders
Anxiety disorders are psychological factors or instances that happen when a particular stimulus is active within the subconscious. They relate very vaguely to stress, but they do cause it if they are not mitigated.Disorders like OCD, PTSD, and social anxiety disorders benefit massively from the person's past experiences and the surrounding environment. In the most logical sense of the word, anxiety is a stress disorder that generates levels of worry in anticipation of future events.Related: Positive behavior in determining the personality
3. Overcoming stress
In the common goal of overcoming fear, some people might find it easy, and others might find it difficult depending on the task and the personality. One of the most common ways of overcoming stress is minimizing the importance of whatever it is that stimulates that stress. For instance, a student can stress over overdue homework, in which case they can think less of the consequences and more on how to tackle it and the most effective way of doing it.The more one dwells on the thought of having to deal with outcomes and results that might take place in the future, the more their energy goes in the direction of stressfulness and anxiety. The key is focusing as much as possible on the objective itself.
4. Sleep and stress
Sleeplessness is one of the obstacles to overcoming anxiety. It has this cycle relationship with stress, where the later causes one not to sleep, and insomnia causes more pressure in the morning. There are many ways of dealing with that problem, of which there is exploring various activities throughout the day, drinking plenty of water before sleep, having a steady sleep schedule, and coping with life choices. It also helps a lot if the person who is trying to sleep sets the tone and the mood for a good rest.
