Going on a beach trip anytime soon? Then keep reading! Beach trips are a great way to spend leisure time with friends, family, lovers and even alone. The relaxing sound of the waves and seagulls, while you bathe in the sun, is a different level of paradise that you need at least once every month!

Especially if you're a workaholic, a relaxing beach trip is essential this coming summer! And what better way to spend a great beach day than with your friends? Opening a cold one, and toes in the sand while watching the sunset.

But of course, for your trip to be a success you need to prepare–but don't worry, we got you! Below is a list of great beach trip tips that'll elevate and make you have a seamless trip with friends:

1 - Pick out a beach!

One of the first things you need to do before your trip is, of course, pick out a beach! This might seem like a quick decision to make but it can actually be hard especially if you and your friends all have different preferences. Things to consider when picking out a beach are accessibility, distance, amenities, activities, availability and costs. Once you've figured out a beach, everything else will seamlessly flow. Also, don't forget to consider the rules that come with the beach you picked out–some beaches don't allow outside food & drinks, while others don't allow alcoholic drinks.

2 - Choose and set a date and budget

Once you have a beach picked out, it's now time to choose a date for the trip and budget. So what you can do is coordinate with your friends to pick out a suitable date that everyone agrees on, as well as a budget that works for everyone.

For budget make sure to consider transportation costs, food and beverage expenses, accommodation costs and any additional fees along the trip. A tip to consider, go for affordable accommodation since the main purpose of lodging is a place to leave your stuff, a place to bathe and a place to rest. Oh and be ready for rescheduling and budget changes since unforeseen things can happen at times.

3 - Book in advance

To make sure you secure an available cottage, room or spot during your trip make sure to book in advance. Especially if you're choosing to go to the beach during the weekend or holidays! Plus booking in advance doesn't just secure you a spot but sometimes you can also catch “early bird” discounts and more.

4 - Pack essentials!

Making sure you have everything you need to enjoy a full day in the sun is crucial while getting ready for a beach excursion. Here is a thorough packing list to make sure you have everything you need for an amazing beach adventure:

  • Sun protection - Protect yourself from the sun by having sunscreen, a sunhat and shades with you at all times! Make sure to bring ones that are SPF 50 and above!
  • Swimwear - Make sure to pack something to swim or do water activities. Make sure to pack at least two! Also don't forget to pack a pair of flip-flops.
  • Extra clothes - Of course, don't forget to pack extra clothes for after the beach!
  • Snacks - Have some snacks packed for your trip to munch on before, during and after the trip. It's best to go for snacks that are easy to bring and eat like chips, cookies, crackers and anything that isn't sauce-y.
  • Cash - These days, digital pay is accepted and practised everywhere! But just in case of no signal areas or vendors that don't have online pay, always have cash with you.
  • Water tumblers - An eco-friendly way to stay hydrated is by having a water tumbler with you during your trip! There are tons of refilling stations and even restaurants that offer free water.
  • A wet bag - A wet bag is used to store wet clothes, so make sure to pack one for your trip!
  • First aid kit - Just to be safe in case of any accidents, make sure to pack a first aid kit!

5 - Pack some entertainment

A variety of entertainment alternatives may help you make the most of your beach vacation and guarantee that every second is spent having fun and unwinding. Take a look at a variety of books and immerse yourself in enthralling stories that will take you to far-off places and exciting experiences.

Using portable audio speakers, set the scene with your favourite songs to create an atmosphere of excitement or calm as the waves lap against the coast. Classic card games are great for socialising under the sun with friends and family. Play them to engage in pleasant banter or lively rivalry. With a portable projector, you can turn the dunes into a theatre beneath the stars and take your beach nights to new heights.
