GRANDSON OF THE WIND' LEE JEONG-HOO, FIRST HOME RUN IN SECOND EXHIBITION GAME

‘Grandson of the Wind' Lee Jeong-hoo (25, San Francisco Giants) hit his first home run in his second exhibition game in the big league.

Jeong-hoo Lee started as the number one hitter and center fielder in the 2024 American Professional Baseball Major League (MLB) away exhibition game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA on the 1st (Korean time) and went 2 for 3.

He performed brilliantly with one hit, home run, and one RBI.

The home run came with two outs in the top of the third inning when the team was down 0-2.

Against right-handed pitcher Ryne Nelson, he attacked a fastball driven into the center on the 4th pitch with 2 balls and 1 strike. 바카라사이트

He touched a fastball on the inside of the first pitch and hit a foul, but later he successfully filtered out two low change-ups.

And when a 152.4 km/h fastball was hit in the middle, he pulled it straight and made a home run that went over the right wall.

According to MLB Statcast, Lee Jeong-hoo's home run batting speed was 176.5 km per hour, launch angle was 18 degrees, and distance was 127.4 m.

Lee Jeong-hoo previously hit a double in the top of the first inning as the leadoff hitter.

He hit a low curveball at 131.3 km/h against Nelson with 2 strikes and a double that passed the height of right field.

Although it was a decoy ball that went far outside the strike zone, he made a hit with his unique and sensational hitting technique.

MLB.com initially labeled Lee Jeong-hoo's hit as a cut fastball, but corrected it to a curve after the game.

In his third at-bat, in the 6th inning, with 1 out and 1 out, he hit a sinking fastball high outside with 1 strike against the changed pitcher, right-hander Josh Green, and was out after hitting a ground ball to third base.

He ended the game by being replaced as a defensive player in the bottom of the 6th inning when the team was down 1-2.

This is the first time Lee Jeong-hoo has had a taste of the big league.

Lee Jeong-hoo, who signed a six-year contract with San Francisco for a total of $113 million ahead of this season, suffered from mild back pain at the beginning of spring training and did not participate in the exhibition game.

After getting enough rest, Lee Jeong-hoo played in an exhibition game against the Seattle Mariners for the first time on the 28th of last month and recorded 1 hit and 1 run in 3 at-bats, alleviating the concerns around him.

And in his second exhibition game, he hit his first double and first home run in succession, living up to the expectations of those around him.

Lee Jeong-hoo's batting average in his exhibition game soared to 0.500 (3 hits in 6 at-bats).
