In the Mythic+ scene of WoW, there is a changing dungeon pool for every Season. Currently, one of the hardest Dungeons this Season is The Necrotic Wake. The Necrotic Wake was first released during Shadowlands expansion and saw great success at M+ difficulty. However, since it is a Dungeon from a previous expansion, it is naturally harder to balance with the newest expansion. That's why, we prepared a guide that breaks down all of the Boss fights for each role. So without further ado, let’s get into it!
Blightborne
Blightborne is the first Boss of The Necrotic Wake. You can get to this boss after killing a bunch of mobs at the entrance. Here’s how to defeat it and manage the mechanics for every role:
- Tank - As a Tank, during the first Boss, you have to maximize your space management. Start the boss in the platform, once clearing all of the mobs. After each puddle, the Boss spawns move to the left until there is no more space on the platform. Use defensives for the Tank buster mechanic, and help with the mobs as much as possible.
- DPS - There aren’t many mechanics during this Boss encounter for the DPS role. If you get targeted by the frontal, face it away from the group. If the adds are fixated on you, try to kite them near the Boss.
- Healer - For Healer, it’s important to face the frontal away from the group. Make sure to keep the person that is going to get hit by the frontal at 100% HP. Try to kite the adds near the Boss, so the DPS can burst them to avoid covering more space with the puddles.
Amarth The Harvester
Amarth The Harvestor is the second boss you and your party will encounter. Upon killing the mobs along the way, the boss will appear after a short cutscene. Here’s the rotation for this boss:
- Tank - First of all, as a Tank, try to interrupt as many Boss casts as possible. Manage your defensive cooldowns for the Tank uster hit. When the adds spawn, quickly Taunt the Melee one and try to interrupt one of the mages. Get Aggro on all of them and stack them with the Boss. Of course, do not forget to avoid the breath attack of the boss.
- DPS - As a DPS, try to interrupt the Boss casts and use the anti-enrage skill if your class has access to it. Avoid the breath attack of the Boss. When the adds spawn, interrupt one of the mages and dedicate your offensive cooldowns to burst them down. It is extremely important to interrupt the ‘’Frostbold Volley’’ cast of the Mages. Use Crowd Control on the mobs and make sure all of them are dead before the Boss casts ‘’Final Harvest’’. Failing to do so will result in a Wipe.
- Healer - Help with the interrupts on the Boss as much as possible. Prepare healing cooldowns for when to adds spawn, and help with stunning and interrupting them. Avoid the breath attack of the Boss since it’s crucial.
Important note: Make sure to have at least 77% on the mob counter before starting the Boss fight.
Surgeon Stitchflesh
Surgeon Stitchflesh is the third Boss of The Necrotic Wake. If not played correctly, this Boss can be challenging to beat. Let’s check how below:
- Tank - Tank the Stitchflesh’s Creation in the middle of the Boss arena. Use defensive cooldowns for the ‘’Mutilate’’ tank buster mechanic. After the Boss gets Hooked, quickly taunt it and stack it with the Stitchflesh’s Creation. If a second one is spawned before the first one dies, make sure to taunt it. Coordinate with the team and move the Boss in front of the Stitchflesh’s Creation’s hook.
- DPS - Avoid standing in the puddles. If you get the hook on you, aim it at the Boss and quickly move out of the way. Use offensive cooldowns to burst down the Boss as fast as possible. Coordinate with the Tank to pull the Boss with Stitchflesh’s Creation’s hooks to avoid Fixating.
- Healer - The Stitchflesh’s Creation will constantly do damage to the whole group, so be prepared to heal a lot. When a puddle is gonna spawn on you, move to the side of the arena. If you get the hook, aim it at the Boss and move out of the way. Coordinate with the Tank to hook the Boss when he is down to avoid Fixating.
Nalthor the Rimebinder
Finally, the last Boss of The Necrotic Wake is Nalthor the Rimebinder. This Boss is relatively easier than others but still requires some technique. Check it out below:
- Tank - Pull the Boss a bit to the side to give your team enough space. Keep your mitigation tools up all the time since the Boss is doing a lot of damage. Move around the Boss during the Comet Storm. If a melee DPS gets rooted, run out of the circle as fast as possible.
- DPS - Don't panic during the Comet Storm to avoid overlapping them with your teammates. When somebody gets rooted, get out of the ring quickly so they can get dispelled. Once you get exiled, you will have to dodge all of the Comets and quickly defeat the mob. When you come back to the Boss arena, you will get a Buff.
- Healer - Prirotize constantly healing your Tank, since the Boss is doing a lot of damage. Avoid the Comets, while trying to not overlap them with your group. When somebody gets rooted, wait for everyone to get out of the circle and Dispell them.
